Roy Halston Frowick, Roy enjoyed sewing from his mother, and he began creating and designing his own hats and altering clothes for his mother and sister as he was getting older. Roy graduated Bosse High School in the year 1950, and then attended Indiana University for one semester. In the year 1952, the family moved to Chicago, where Roy enrolled in a night course at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Halston moved to New York City in late 1957, first working for milliner Lilly Daché. Within a one year, he had been named co-designer at Daché. Halston started designing fragrances. His first fragrance was released and it was called Halston, the bottle was designed by Elsa Peretti, and joined other fragrances like Catalyst, Halston 1-12, Sheer, Unbound and Z. These fragrances are all about elegance and achievement.
